Born in 1968, Kirsty graduated from Aberdeen's Gray's School of Art in 1990 with BA (Hons) Fine Art (Painting), and is now one of the UK's most collected contemporary painters. Her rich, vibrant work is immediately recognisable and her wonderful paintings are as much about the actual paint on the surface, as about the subject matter. Working with oils, Kirsty expertly builds up layers of colour with texture to create an image which will undoubtedly resonate with the viewer. She now works from her studio in Brighton but travels throughout the country and abroad regularly, exhibiting in London, Edinburgh and Sussex. An award-winning artist, we are thrilled to be showing Kirsty's work now in Ballater.
Kirsty was honoured to be elected Artist Member of the Chelsea Arts Club in 2004 and, as can be seen in her biography, has many works in both corporate and private collections throughout the world.
Gallerist comment - 'Whilst Kirsty is now based in Brighton, and with a hugely impressive following, I'm delighted, particularly bearing in mind that she graduate form Gray's School of Art, that she has agreed to exhibit her beautiful paintings in the Ballater Gallery'.
