Throughout her career in graphic design Carol, continued in parallel to document and record her travels, both at home in rural Ayrshire, and on her many trips abroad. Now fully focused on her art she is pursuing a long held love for painting in watercolour.
Working on location in her favoured medium of pen and watercolour enables her to capture her subject in fine detail, exploring surface textures and the play of light and shadow on buildings, trees and plants within the landscape. Carol enjoys the challenge and excitement of catching the moment, adding a vitality, spontaneity and freshness to her work.
She has had several solo shows and regularly exhibits at both group and open exhibitions, including The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, and The Paisley Art Institute.
